What is Sketch Your Life© ?
my inspiration for this endeavor is vocalized beautifully by miranda lambert, in 'the house that built me'... have a listen - it may affect you also!
Think about your memories:
*A big Christmas dinner at Grandma's table in '66;
*The Chevy you absolutely loved in HS that is part of only your memory today
*The snapshot your parents gave you of them bringing you home from the hospital to that classic home you grew up in
*Trevi Fountain was magic that day....
Before the world went digital, before everything could be captured on a phone, we had snapshots, dog-eared photographs, passed down in cardboard boxes from our parents, grandparents. There's that one snapshot you love, and every time you look at it it evokes a vivid, warm memory.... you LOVED that old '64 Bug.... the restaurant your family celebrated all their big events is no longer there..... Your mom really misses the house she raised her kids in....
INTRODUCING Sketch Your Life© !
I take a damaged, old photograph and recreate it using a little magic and plenty of time mending pixels. When I have finished you have a new masterpiece, a little work of art, that commemorates that simple object, place or faces that had a part in making you.
The file is created for you to put on display so that you can see it and smile at it every day. It IS the story of you, and it has huge impact. Let's make art of it, and make it display-worthy!
Who is requesting Sketch Your Life© ?
A lady contacted me recently that her father had died and her mother needed to sell the family home. That was a difficult situation, and mom was very sad. I asked her to go to the home, take a simple photo of this home from a couple angles and send it to me. I created a charcoal sketch for her from her simple IPhone photograph. She asked me to have it printed on Watercolor paper. It is beautiful and is a size that her mother can easily hand-carry to her new location.
In 1978 another client received her first car upon graduating HS. That car was part of her life for 10 years. She made plenty of memories in that car driving with her friends, her dog, making little road trips. She accidentally located an old photo of that car recently and she couldn't stop looking at it. She asked me to create a little something for her, but first I had to restore the photo a bit. The end result was a beautiful pastel that we had produced on an 11x14" wood product. It goes very nicely now in her kitchen (where she sees it everytime she brews the morning coffee) !
What are you waiting for? Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Christmas, Anniversary celebrations, birthdays, St Patricks Day> these are the occasions that call for a Sketch of Your Life!
